Student Learning Goals & School Curriculum
Accreditation
Loyola Catholic Grade School was accredited in 1999 by the North Central Accreditation Organization and went through a rigorous introspective process during 2004. We are very proud of our Excellent rating and will work together to continuously improve the programs at the school.
Loyola Catholic Grade School Learning Goals
Learning goals are a vital piece of the continuous improvement process at Loyola:
Learning Goal 1:
Catholic Identity
To prepare active, loving, Catholic/Christian students who exemplify the Two Great Commandments: Love of God and Love of Neighbor
Learning Goal 2:
Academic Improvement
To improve the reading and writing processes according to the needs of each student in grades Kindergarten through Sixth, focusing on: Creative Writing, Writing Conventions, Reference/Study Skills, and Comprehension & Vocabulary.
Learning Goal 3:
Citizens and Active Community Members
To develop model citizens and active community members who: Are aware of current events and demonstrate patriotism; Have an awareness of cultural and other diversities; Take responsibility for their actions and respect authority; Have a positive outlook regarding self.
Learning Goal 4:
Problem solvers
To encourage students with a strong Catholic foundation who are able to: Work to create non-violent solutions; Appreciate different points of view; Make connections relating to information learned in other areas.
Curriculum
Variation in student development is a discreet consideration to enable students to reach their highest level of potential. Faith formation and spiritual development are followed specifically in the design of all curriculums at Loyola. Every staff member designs their curriculum to be challenging yet fair for each student in their classroom. The curriculum at Loyola is designed to meet the requirements of the Archdiocese of Denver
Our curriculum offers students learning opportunities in traditional Catholic education, math, language arts, science, geography, history, music, art, Spanish and computer science.
