Kindergarten is learning described as fun! That is why I teach Kindergarten. Seeing the light bulb go on as new ideas and concepts make sense to five year olds is an amazing happening. This is my sixth year teaching Kindergarten and my eleventh year at Loyola School.

Ms. Sarah Raven,
Sarah Raven received a BA at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a Masters of Science in Teaching at Pace University in New York City. Through the Teach for America program Ms. Sarah spent two years teaching in a low-performing school in the South Bronx. She spent one more year at the public school, and then became a 5th grade teacher at Harriet Tubman Charter School (also in the South Bronx). After taking some time away from teaching in the classroom to pursue other interests, Sarah is now dedicated to making the world a better place, one child at a time.

Ms. Elizabeth Herbert,
Grade 6 missliz6loyola@yahoo.com
I was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. I then attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, where I received my degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from college, I decided to do a year of volunteer work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. I was sent to Portland, Maine, where I spent my first year teaching as an Enrichment Teacher. This was a wonderful year that made me more excited than ever about my career in education. My path then led me to Denver. I taught 3rd grade for one year at St. Pius X in Aurora. I knew about Loyola and hoped that a position would open up for the following year. I am blessed to say that this is now my fourth year teaching here. My first two years here I taught 2nd grade and last year, I made the move to 6th grade. I love this school and deeply believe that it is a place of not only learning, but also a place of friendship, growth and compassion.
